A true living legend of the stand-up world, the critically acclaimed Steve Hughes is known to the world for the last two decades as THE cutting edge stand up comedian who pulls no punches.
After sell-out shows at the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and New Zealand Comedy Festivals, the sublime Australian comic and ex heavy-metal drummer returns to UK shores to embark upon his fourth solo tour.
He stormed the UK last year with his sell-out tour, with extra dates added due to phenomenal demand.
On TV, he’s performed stellar sets on Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow (BBC One), Stand Up For The Week (CH4) & One Night Stand (Dave).
'Hughesy' began his comedy career in the mid 1990s at an open mic night at the Sydney Comedy Store, quickly progressing through the amateur ranks to become one of Australia’s premier and most sought-after comedy acts. During this time he was also called upon to provide his expertise in comedy and music as a host for MTV Australia. After his success on the Australian scene Hughes was keen to expand his audience and so moved to the UK in 2002 to begin his work in UK stand-up. Following successful Edinburgh festival appearances, Hughes has firmly established himself, and lives in the city of Manchester, to which he has made reference in several of his performances.
Never far from controversy, Steve has headlined with rave revues at Comedy festivals around the world filmed several specials that have been released on numerous DVD's.

His comedic style is heavily influenced by iconic figures like Richard Pryor, Bill Hicks, and George Carlin, focusing on themes such as political correctness, religion, and societal norms.
In late 2024, Hughes completed a successful tour across the UK, showcasing his sharp wit and heavy metal flair. This tour marked a significant return to the stage after a brief hiatus due to health issues that required emergency surgery. His performances were met with enthusiasm from audiences eager to experience his unique comedic perspective.
